i rather mistakenly bought this thinking it was its own work, to find on arrival that it is only first segment of Ford's autobiography 'My Life and Work' (recordings of which are available on youtube and librevox for free). that error is largely on me for not looking deeper, but it didn't appear obvious from the description.moreover, the over-sized font and book length/height make it a little clunky (yet very quick) to read as an adult, but increases its potential use as a great gift for a elementary to early high school student.
the content of this particular volume (one of the best sections of the larger book), however, is fantastic. Ford is articulate, reflective, and very straightforward. His commentary includes such topics as:
- the cultivation of virtue and ethical living,
- the application of technology and process engineering to improve human life,
- the optimal education of the mind/body towards the acquisition and application of practical skill,
His enduring optimism on the character and future of human society, the benefits and potential of future technologies, and how they are so intimately linked is truly inspiring, and provides a spark and ground for how best to live.

Should be mandantory reading in any business degree program
